Maiden voyage

September 9, 2010

Our son, Dan, was gracious enough to help us get the boat in the lake for the first time.

When I mentioned to his older sister that he was coming out, she may have questioned his motives…..

One way or another we appreciated the extra set of hands, and it was such fun to spend the day together on the water.

Oh my gosh we had fun! Look at his face!

The view from the water was gorgeous.

Visions of days ahead, a father and a son trying to out-fish each other. Coming home to tell us lies stories of the ones that got away.So maybe he did have ulterior motives….

Come on everybody – come out and play with us! Spending time together with those we hold dear to our hearts is what it’s all about.

I sure wish I could. I’ve been known to outfish the men in my life on occasion. The water is beautiful. And the summer will last just longer-enough to enjoy an extended season.

All of you sure do look happy! What fun! When my Dad was alive, he and Mom had a lake house here in NC, and we owned a boat. I miss those fun family times. Enjoy!

It’s always a blessing to be reminded of how fleeting time is – ‘grass that withers’ – we’re thinking now that we’ve finally got a boat we may be able to draw those men in the family to the lake a bit more often!
