October, flying by…

October 9, 2010

October, so long waited for, is likely to be remembered as a blur. After a fun, fun trip to Branson with a group from our church, we’re heading to the metroplex to spend some time with grandsons while their mama and little sister are off on an adventure to PA – sister time. Then there’s the Texas state fair, have to squeeze that in, with our son’s family. We’ll be privileged to attend our newest granddaughter’s dedication, then company starts showing up at our door.

Friends we’ve known longer than our kids, and some family coming for a visit to the lake. So there will be baking, and cleaning and such to do, to get ready.

We’ve got plans to end the month by joining our church, and start volunteering at their food and clothing pantry – something we’ve been looking forward to for months. How great is it when you can volunteer at church and reach out to your community at the same time?

October will indeed probably seem like a blur when we look back, but a blur of goodness. Can’t wait!

Sounds like a month focused on others! Volunteering will add such richness and blessing to your already-blessed life! I know that’s true of my life! Finding a church home is a great blessing, too!

    I think I outdate everybody who’s coming to visit, don’t I? Clearly that’s why I’m your favorite. Shh, don’t tell L & D. 🙂
