This weekend I….

October 17, 2010

Keys to the Cottage

went to the Texas State Fair, and saw Big Tex for myself,

ate a corn dog,

and an ear of corn, dipped in butter

and a diet coke, which isn’t typical State Fair fare, but when you eat a corn dog, and corn drenched in butter……

rode the ferris wheel and saw all of the metroplex in one sweep

attended church services with family, wishing everyone could have been there,

to celebrate a grand-daughter’s dedication

wondered what she will think about this bow someday. We loved it!

For more of ‘this weekend’ go visit Keys to the Cottage 🙂

Leave it to those boys to mess up our picture! At least Jae and Addie weren’t paying attention, either 🙂 Definitely missing a few people–hopefully soon we’ll all be together for another one!

(p.s. Let’s always put me next to Dan–he makes me look small! Yay!!)

Wow, I’ve got some catching up to do! Bev, your family is beautiful!
That is some BIG, Big Tex. Goodness, is it inflatable, or does he stand there all the time???
I think with the two weeks you have had, that I would be doing exactly the same thing you were. Hanging out in jammies is a treat.
I also love Jae’s bow. So cute!

Karen, I’ll have to as my DIL who knows all things Texasa. I don’t think he’s inflatable, but maybe they store him part of the year? We had to wait in line for the photo, so he’s popular 😉

Sarah, Dan DOES make you look teensy, doesn’t he? loved having so many of us there, wishing the rest could be.

What a fun weekend — of course, any weekend that includes the grandkids is a fabulous weekend, right? 😉

Love Big Tex! Not that I’ve ever met him in person, but I happen to love the 1960s version of State Fair with Ann-Margaret, in which he appears. Did you ride the merry-go-round with your husband and sing the Little Things in Texas? 🙂

    What a great family picture:-)

Now I am craving corn on the cob… there is nothing like fair food!

I LOVE the bow! Baby Jae is stylin’ for sure! What a sweet family picture – you all look so happy!
And fair food? The Best – simply the Best!!

Look at that beautiful girl! She is a gorgeous hair bow model 🙂

    Big Tex ain’t bad himself.

Love everything about this, but especially how Gray-Gray has not yet figured out that you make “bunny ears” behind someone else’s head, and not your own 🙂
